Given the huge interest in Ash Vs Evil Dead, a "why is there no full Ash Vs Evil Dead section" page has been added to reflect the reasoning behind this.

Any pages added to this section will only be for material in-so-much as it relates to the original Evil Dead trilogy. Examples might include information on recreated sets & props, and other such directly linked reference information & material which people might find useful. It does not cover wider Ash Vs Evil Dead material unrelated to the original trilogy.

A few people have been in contact about Ash Vs Evil Dead, and if the site will be expanded to encompass this. Well for the moment at least I'm afraid it won't be included.

I saw The Evil Dead & Evil Dead II when I was 12, and they had a big effect on me. Up to that point I was interested in magic tricks, and thereafter I started more towards making my own crude gore effects, which is more or less the other side of the same coin. That then progressed into making my own short films with a few school friends.

Following this I decided to try and do special effects for a living. I've now worked in the special effects industry for the last 15 years, and that probably wouldn't have happened if I'd not seen The Evil Dead & Evil Dead II when I was 12.

Now, would Ash Vs Evil Dead have as big an effect on me seeing it today as those films did when I was 12? I don't think any film could no matter how good it was. It was really down to seeing the originals at that impressionable young age. That's not to say the TV show isn't perfectly fine, it just can't have that seminal life-changing quality to it for me, that's no reflection on the TV show itself.

I could add page after page of detailed information about Ash Vs Evil Dead or the Evil Dead remake, and it may well be interesting enough, but my heart wouldn't really be in it. This website is an ode to the original trilogy, a thank-you if you will. It's almost a cathartic aspect to my life today, there for my benefit rather than anyone else's. It costs me a fair amount in hosting & domain name charges every year and doesn't have any money making advertising because I don't want it to, as well as a fair bit more in sourcing new material such as magazine scans and such. I'm happy to keep it online out of my own pocket and stick to adding material I'm 100% enthusiastic about.

Should you want information, you can read a little more on the Evil Dead 4? page which covers various rumours & interviews leading through the years up to the show's release, and check out the links section to browse other sites.
