'Beyond Re-Animator' is "soon to begin
pre-production"
You've heard the rumors, now here comes
the word from the official source. Inside the latest issue of
Cinescape Magazine (print edition only), Brian Yunza, the producer
of the first two films and director of 'Bride of Re-Animator'
announced that the third film, titled 'Beyond Re-Animator,' is "soon
to begin pre-production." Considering that pre-production on a movie
can take anywhere from a few months to many years, that's pretty
vague, but it's still a step in the right direction.
According to Yunza, "The third one takes
place so many years that it is a whole new audience out there who
have never seen 'Re-Animator,' so you would think that it would just
be a matter of redoing the original or at least that you could just
do a completely new movie. But there are enough fans of the first
that you have to be careful not to change anything critical and stay
within the same tone." Given that there's at least three (if not
more) different possible plot synopses online, it's hard to say
exactly what the film will be about, except that it will again focus
on Dr. Herbert West.
Lion's Gate Films purchased the rights to
release the third 'Re-Animator' film back in 2000, and still intends
to do so once it is completed. - Bishop

The next Alien

Well, when we learned of McFarlane's firm
grasp on the Alien Franchise license, we knew there was unlimited
potential for many figures. It seems McFarlane is already on
board with that thought as they presented the second in the line of
Aliens; the Quadroped, "Dog Burster" Alien from Alien 3. This was
confirmed and posted today by McFarlane staff member Brad
Gould. So if you are a fan, get ready, because
there are plenty of characters and Aliens left to go.
12 inch Tortured Souls confirmed by
McFarlane
Today on Spawn.com, McFarlane Toys

Series 1 Tortured Souls as 12 inch limited editions. The line
will include:
- Agonistes
- The Scythe-Meister
- Venal Anatomica
- Talisac
Although no retailers were named as of
yet, McFarlane guesses the price of the "very limited" figures to be around $40-$50 each. They
should be in stores in time for Halloween. Keep watching the
page for further details.
Halloween: Resurrection teaser in theaters

Yep, it seems that some of the theaters
showing Jason X, have included the H8 trailer with it. From

attached to the film in about half the theaters and in major
markets. No news yet as to why it's not more widespread, but
keep watching the page for links when it is found online.

That was the creed we developed in the

have helped and still help me. This update is in appreciation
to them and everyone who has ever just stopped by to see the

18-inch T-800 Terminator scrapped
Kiss this face goodbye. McFarlane Toys
has announced today that only one 18-inch figure will be released in
Movie Maniacs 5: Edward Scissorhands. The 18-inch T-800 is toast.
Not word yet on precisely why.
Some time back, we were told by the folks
at McFarlane Toys that if Arnold's likeness rights could not be
attained, an 18-inch Endoskeleton would be released in place of the
T-800. As of now, we have no word on what happened to that idea. -

Building a better Terminator
Over at the Spawn board yesterday
McFarlane's own Brad Gould gave us a glimpse of the updated sculpt
for the T-800 Endoskeleton figure. The first pic is the updated
sculpt and the following one is the Toy Fair Publicity photo so you
can compare.
As some hardcore fans noticed at
Toy Fair, while a spectacular figure, it had some errors and it
seems that many of them have been corrected. The changes, we
learn, come from McFarlane staff working with someone who actually
worked on the T-800 models for T2. Can't get much better than
that. Now if they can just get that gun right I will be a
happy man. Thanks to MMcollector for the heads up.
