Evil Dead Rises on PS2
When THQ announced Evil Dead for the PlayStation in October 1999, the company was quite clear that this game would be the beginning of a much bigger franchise, and that the game would appear on next-generation systems. So, it's not incredibly hot news that Heavy Iron is searching for its team now. The first Evil Dead title is scheduled for a fall 2000 release on PlayStation, and is based on the three Sam Raimey cult-horror films starring Bruce Campbell. But THQ has never directly said that Evil Dead will appear on PlayStation2, and this ad clearly states the company's plans. The first part of the ad reads: "Heavy Iron Studios is looking for industry veterans to help bring the Evil Dead license to PC and next generation consoles." The advertisement posts job openings for four different positions, 3D modeler, 2D artist, Renderman TD, a System Administrator, and a Senior Game Programmer. The last one states that the senior or potentially lead game programmer will work on the following SKUs, PlayStation, Dreamcast, PC, and eventually PlayStation2. When phoned, THQ had no official comment on Evil Dead PlayStation2. |
