FACTS

  • The budget for The Evil Dead was $50,000.
  • The Evil Dead wasn't Raimi's first deadite movie. When he was eighteen he made a short fifteen minute splatter movie called Within The Woods. After this was made he went around to peoples houses showing them the film he wanted to make and these people invested in the making of The Evil Dead.
  • The Evil Dead was originally titled Book Of The Dead.
  • In The Evil Dead a 'The Hills Have Eyes' poster can be seen on the wall in the cellar.
  • The two fishermen on the road at the start of The Evil Dead, who are in fact Director Sam Raimi and Producer Robert Tapert.
  • Where Ash finds the necklace he gave Linda on the floor it's in the shape of a skull, spooky!

  • BLOOPERS

  • When Ash and his friends are first going to the cabin Scott blows the horn on the car and the two fishermen (Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert) on the road wave at them. Scott shouts out the open window yet when the car is driving away the window is closed.
  • Just when the car begins across the bridge at the start and the camera is pulling back a man can be seen standing on the right hand side of the screen.
  • Another near the beginning, when Scott enters the cabin at first on his own he walks across the room towards the clock on the wall. As he walks by the window the reflection of someone standing behind him can be seen.
  • The Evil Dead is ©1982 Newline Cinema / Renaissance Pictures.
