Hey guy, I know most of you know that Tom is
wanting to sue a member of this board for having some pictures of
his book on the web. I sent him a email about it and asked him to
not be so hard on him. This is what he sent me back. I guess I am
stupid or something because I still dont think its right to do this
to James! Tom said to let you fans know so here it is in his
words.

situation. You have no idea about fair
use
laws.
Fair use? Not in this case. I suggest you study
copyright Law.
What James has done is violate 18 U.S.C. Section
2319. Federal
Copyright

I registered
my artwork with the
Library of Congress and so if someone violates my
copyrights I
get to call in some professional "Dicks", The F.B.I. and
my
Attorney. Please tell all my fans that I will do
this to protect my
property.
James (and everybody else)
is prohibited from Copying, Reproducing,
Distributing or Selling
copies of my work. Since he posted my images,
a
company
called Shutterfly has been selling prints and offering
free
downloads. Yes that site is down but the damage has
been done. James
is financially responsible for all
damages. And there are damages.
He
has given
away my hard work. I can assure you that every artist
will
agree with my actions.
If I do not protect my
property I will lose my copyrights. I now
have to
track down everybody who downloaded an image and convince them
to
delete their images of my work. Did James consider
this? I have
enough to do with my business creating and
selling prints of my art and
making personal appearances designed
to appease my fans. I make a
point
of being whole
heartedly available to my fans.
My teatment of
James is nothing compared to what Law enforcement and
my Lawyer
will do. I'm sorry neither you or James have the common
sense
or maturity to know right from wrong. Let's
blame your Parents.
James has screwed up badly and will
make it right. As for for my
fans, I'll be at the
Pittsburg Comicon at the end of April and
Horrorfind
(Baltimore, MD) in August and Cinema
Wasteland(Cleveland, OH) in the
first weekend in Oct. Why
don't you and James show up and explain your
side of the story
and I'll explain mine and we'll let the "Fans"
decide.
Most
of the fans I know don't want to rippoff the people they claim
to
admire. In fact I learned about James postings form a
very protective
fan. Someone I have never met. What
did this "Fan" know that you and
James can't grasp?
In short, you do not know what you are talking about.
For a clue,
try talking to an adult. or type in
"copyright" in your search engine.
