About Ash :

In the first Evil Dead movie Ash is the most cowardly of the the two male sin the movie for at least half of the movie, he is blind to what is happening to his sister and best friends, but when Scotty left Ash to fend for himself and his girlfriend Linda, but once Linda became possessed and Scotty was killed Ash started to become paranoid and in the end had to find the deadites alone.

Unlike the other movies and computer games that Ash appears in this is definitely the starting point for where Ash becomes big headed and smart mouthed, Ash is a coward in this movie until the only way to destroy the evil is to do it himself, with only a shotgun and a burning book of the Dead for weaponry and quickly running out of ammo this is definitely an experience that Ash will never forget.
