Ash Action Figure |

WHO: Ash WHEN: Already released (fall 2000) WHERE: These figures are long gone from stores, so your best bet is Ebay. ACCESSORIES: Chainsaw, shotgun, metal hand, Necronomicon, Mini-Ash REVIEW: Ah, here's the big guy himself, Ash. Done by perhaps the best company possible for such a figure, McFarlane Toys. A match made it heaven...or so it seemed. The sculpt of Ash's body is dead-on. It's simply amazing. The pants, the torn shirt, the boots, the arms...all excellent. The accessories are equally impressive: the Necronomicon is perfect, the saw is awesome, and the gun is dead-on. The Mini-Ash is smll, so the detail isn't excellent, but that's no biggie. The facial sculpt, admittedly, leaves a bit to be desired. It doesn't look all that much like Bruce Campbell. But the upcoming 18" Ash has a great face sculpt, so it's not that bad. One warning when you're looking for an Ash figure on eBay: the paint ops very often rather spotty on this figure. Some had bright blue shirts, while others was the proper shade of darker blue, as if the shirt were wet (as it was in the pit scene). Some had big blobs of blood, while others had a nice, splattered look. The figure has articulation at both wrists, both shoulders, head, waist, and ankles. It really only looks good in one pose, though. There will be a repainted Ash included in the Pit Deadite exclusive 2-pack. It's hard to tell from the picture McFarlane released whether the head has been resculpted or not, but it's a possibility. Click on the thumbnails below for larger pictures:
