This is a pet project I did in 2006. It came about because of EvilDeadChainsaws.com. My original intention with EDC was to do a different background for each saw rather than just use the workshed backdrop for all three. In the end that's what I did.
As part of the 'Cabin' chainsaw backdrop I wanted to have the book of the dead in the background. Just before this sculpt was completed I decided to stick with the workshed background and this was never finished as I was so busy with other things, and there was little point in finishing just to sell them as it would have breached Tom Sullivan's fiercely protected copyright.
The clay eventually got used for something else. If I had finished this I would have made a plaster mould of this allowing me to produce liquid latex book covers, then I would have most likely scanned, printed & aged the pages from the Evil Dead book of the dead DVD, to reproduce the inside pages.
