That would be unfair wouldn't it?
Speed implies we will have less time to help ourselves and is the cause of fast heartbeats and adrenalin pumping through our veins. Whereas slow and shambolic Zombies are slow burning creeping creatures that, as Barbera says in 1990NOTLD, you could walk right through them.
Personally they both freak me out but the one's who could catch me are scarier. Romero is genius because in his films the zombies are more of an afterthought. Take Dawn where whole moments of non-Z happenings happen until Peter drops his tennis ball and we are reminded THEY are still out there. The are neither protagonists or antagonists - they are the background. The antagonists are the bikers who don't care for the living or the dead. In modern fast zombie movies it is the zombies who ARE the enemy and therefore need to have something Romero zombies didn't - speed. ROTLD had fast Zombies too, in fact a bunch of them chase a guy at full speed, yet nobody ever complains about it.
I find it hard to believe anybody else watched Children of the Living Dead. Kung Fu Savini "acting" and that big zombie guy who looked like Jeff Kober on a bad, bad day? Was John (I made Night Of The Living Dead) Russo involved in that POS? Prick. After Russo's new shots in the anniversary NOTLD he should have been shot. For COTLD he should have been resurrected and been hacked in the head with a machete.
And Bill Hinzman is a prick too. "You know Stephen King said I was his favorite Zombie"....again and again

Oh god the "deleted scenes" from the anniversary NOFTLD! HAHAHA those were sooooo fricken bad, all the actors covered in make-up to try and look younger. I think I threw up in my mouth when I watched those. 'Children' was wretched as well, but the added scenes take the cake. Now back to the speedy zombies, I find that the original idea of how Zombies were an afterthought at times is very scary. In some instances, you almost forget about them (putting your guard down, in a way) and when you're reminded, hopefully you're in a safe place. Fast zombies certainly are scarier in the sense that they're a bigger threat, but it's a little cheesy in my mind. Come on, REAL ZOMBIES don't run... I had this textbook once, and I'm almost positive it said that. Joda I'll have to show you it sometime, I think my dog ate it though

What scares me is the fact that there would be morons who would forget there are zombies outside during an invasion.

It's so surprising how some people don't see the big picture and just go with their daily lives, a blind and submissive lapdog to this consumeristic and capitalized lifestyle the government has fabricated for our "needs"... I think my eyes just melted, too much reality!

I think once the whole vampire facade of Count Dracula, the stormy nights, the bats, etc were dropped and things got a bit less pretensious... that's when it got good. Bela Lugosi will always be my favorite vampire, but I'm not a huge fan of that kind of vampire movie... Actually I think my favorite part of the vamp movie is the slayer... George Clooney with a jackhammer staking machine or James Woods with a badass crossbow and assortment of goodies. It's all good.

the Buffy movie was freaking funny. From Dusk Till Dawn was the best (in my book anyways) vampire movie next to Interview with a Vampire, and George Clooney has become like Bruce Campbell in that film Seth Gecko had his own signature weapon the stake jackhammer just like Ash's Chainsaw arm. God I love that film!
