.....The sheer awesomeness speaks for itself. THE EVIL DEAD #1 Written by Mark Verheiden, art by John Bolton. "We're gonna get you! We're gonna get you!" Verheiden and Bolton present an exciting expansion on the classic horror film that introduced us to the powerful Book of the Dead, the relentlessly violent deadites, and Ash -- one resilient, blood-stained survivor. Now an iconic horror hero, relive Ash's first visit to the cabin that brought him face to face with the delectably deranged deadites who possessed his girlfriend and friends . . . and turned "the perfect place to get laid" into a house of fear and fury. Return to the original nonstop gore-fest and experience the thrills, gags, and gagging anew, with unexpected new directions, additional scenes, and Bolton's jaw-dropping new paintings. This is a four-issue, fully authorized celebration of the original Evil Dead film that started Sam Raimi and Burce Campbell down their paths of gory glory. 32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Jan. 2. ...It's about damned time. I can't stand Dynamite's AOD books, so this is like sweet, sweet relief. Let's hope they do ED2!!! |

Awesome.  Maybe companies will start utilizing the ED license more and stop milking AOD. |

This is the same artist who did the orginal AOD movie adaption, And I actually adore the AOD comics (i Picked up 4 series of them yesteday) and i think ratehr than milking the AOD name, theyre just continuing the adventures of Ash, which tehy cant really do with ED/ED2 |

...Yeah, I hear that. AOD steals the spotlight WAAAAY too much for being, in my personal opinion, the weak link in the series. Having said that, let me just say I DO love AOD.....I just think the initial films are superior. And like what you like.....I like some dubious shit myself, so I'm not here to step on anyone's toes, but I think Dynamite's AOD stuff is effing atrocious. So you've no idea how this comic fires me up, especially since I too adored the AOD adaptation from Bolton & Dark Horse.

Let's see a book series from Black Flame, like the New Line stuff, for that matter! How sweet would that be?!

SO weird.I took a Whole stack of AOD comics to my friend last week. He's no comic geek, but a HUGE horror-movie fan.
So being the nerdy-comicbook authority, I sat down and told him which ones were the best.
AOD VS MZ and....The Bolton Adaption.
I come home, log on, and whats the latest news on this site?
 A NEW BOLTON ADAPTION!

 ...I pooed...A LOT

A little bit more glory for you long-suffering Deadites out there... EVIL DEAD #2 Written by Mark Verheiden, art by John Bolton. "Cheryl was floating in mid-air, growling like a '68 Mustang, muttering something about her ancient slumber . . . " Relive the blood-soaked experience of the classic horror film The Evil Dead -- from Ash's point of view and with extra scenes! Verheiden scripts this expansion on Sam Raimi's first full-length feature film, putting us right inside Ash's brash mind and giving Evil Dead fans Raimi-approved dialogue and scenes that didn't appear in the original gore-fest. Verheiden writes, "With permission from Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, we've expanded the movie, meeting our characters back in their pre-deadite lives and opening up the story to see what happened between the events seen on screen." 32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Feb. 13. ...Shelley's looking quite lovely, no? "You have pretty skin...GIVE IT TO US!!!" |
